Skronker

Skronker : A low-on-knobs distortion pedal for guitar

Features
  • Only one knob (output volume)
  • Pre-set gain (quite a bit of it)
  • Three switchable degrees of treble cut
  • Full frequency (no bass loss)
  • Asymmetrical hybrid (Si/Ge) distortion
  • Hand wired
  • Hand drilled
  • True bypass
  • Blue LED

Notes
Case pre-painted yellow from Toadworks.
Decals of the dry-rub variety.
PCB from tonepad.com
Treble cut switch isn't just for taste. It can act as feedback suppressor. It helps most when using an unfamiliar amp at a gig where bands might share backline.
Based loosely on Gary Burchett's revision of Dan Armstrong's Blue Clipper, with several modifications.
Blue LED fitted in homage to the Skronker's Blue Clipper origins.

Samples
All samples feature clean guitar sound before the pedal is engaged. The treble cut options are then cycled through from brightest to normal to damped. Samples were recorded using lipstick pickups and a tube preamp.
